Oh no, not Kimmy Gobbler! Love the homage to the Steelers, frogs, and most importantly, Full House.

I Love NY and MI

Welcome to our blog about vanity plates. I think an appropriate way to start this endeavor is with a license plate which pays homage, in part, to my home state. Now everyone who lives any where remotely close to the tri-state area will tell you that those I <3 NY shirt represent the purest form of evil, New York City tourists. They crowd the sidewalks, take pictures of the most random and mundane things and expect you to be nice when they are lost on the subway. One time I went to the city for a friends birthday and spilled marinara sauce all down my shirt because I am a four-year-old trapped in 20-somethings body. Well, I was forced to buy one of those shirts, I tried to keep it classy but getting a je t'aime NY version -- it didn't help.

This individual spruced up their license plate by adding the great state of Michigan. Now, the combination of Michigan and New York remind me of my time studying in Europe. I was backpacking around Europe (and by backpacking, I mean we had backpacks with us at our hotels) with three of my friends. Since Europeans generally think that America is the size of Monaco and therefore to them Michigan and New York are practically neighboring towns, we never gave too much detail when asked where we live. However, on a bus in Dublin, we ran into some fellow Americans. So when asked where we were from, two of my friends and I responded New York. We were met with minimal enthusiasm. When our fourth friend responded with his home state of Michigan, the guy said "Great State." I guess us New Yorkers just think that we have the greatest state since everyone come here to buy those stupid t-shirts and stand in Time Square to shop at stores which are also located at a strip mall down the street from their house. I will never really get the mid-west but here's to the guy or gal who loves the both sides of the Great Lakes
